Ilise Harris
Co-Director & Producer
Ilise is an international makeup and hair artist with decades of experience and a diverse clientele that has included celebrities, fashion and beauty brands, corporations, and indie films. She has contributed to iconic editorial and advertising campaigns and has worked with some of the world’s most influential fashion, fine-art and beauty photographers such as Arthur Elgort, Francesco Scavullo, Horst, Joyce Tenneson, and Anne Geddes. For over forty-five years, her career has afforded her the opportunity to work with many high-profile personalities like Vogue's Anna Wintour, Mia Farrow, Liza Minnelli, Paulina, Jon Stuart, Gloria Steinem, Brooke Shields and others.
YOUR ROOTS ARE SHOWING marks Harris’s debut as a documentary filmmaker, expanding her practice as a visual artist into long-form storytelling. The film has opened new pathways for Ilise as a public speaker, Modern Elder, and pro-age beauty advocate.

Max Freiman
Co-Director & Video Editor
Max Freiman is an award-winning film director and editor. His first feature film, Your Roots Are Showing, which he co-directed with Ilise Harris, won best documentary at the YOFI film festival in 2024. He also edits the PBS series Deconstructing the Beatles, returning for its second season in March 2026.
Max has a background in the advertising world, working as both an assistant editor and editor for large and small brands. 3 Worlds 1 Modern Romance is his first narrative film, and he can’t wait to show off the hard work of his amazing cast and crew. You can learn more about Max and his work HERE.

Regina K. Scully
Executive Producer
Founder and CEO of Artemis Rising Foundation, an organization dedicated to transforming our culture through media, arts, and education. Regina K. Scully has produced over 200+ documentary films focused on some of the most pressing social justice issues of our time. She is an Emmy, Academy and Peabody Award-winning producer.

Ms. Scully is also a principal funder of Gamechanger Films, a development company dedicated to groundbreaking narratives that disrupt the status quo and advance the cultural conversation. Ms. Scully is Founder and CEO of RPR Marketing Communications, a public relations and marketing agency in NYC. Ms. Scully is Co-Founder of the Making Waves Academy Charter School in Richmond, CA. Ms. Scully is a board member of the Women’s Media Center, Harvard Women’s Leadership Board, and The Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences.
